Elegant room with private bathroom in historic house - city center

Beautiful room close to town. Positive: The Ribas Guestrooms was easy to fine and very close to the town. The double glazed windows meant it was quiet. I heard no noise from outside or inside the building. The room (5) was large and warm and had a bathroom which included a large shower. A coffee machine was included and plates, cups, glasses and cutlery were available from a cupboard in the hall outside the room.

Dececionante Negative: The establishment deserves a negative review not so much because of the accommodations, which were reasonable, but rather due to the management’s attitude towards our noise complaint. On the second night of our stay, we heard several noises directly above our room (footsteps, objects falling, loud laughter, music — a typical Saturday night gathering with friends). We reported our discomfort since it was already past 10 p.m., but received no reply, even though our message was seen. We were then surprised when, from midnight until almost 1 a.m., people started leaving from the upper floor — a floor that is not reserved for guests but used by the management of the property. In other words, not only was our complaint ignored, but the staff themselves were the source of the disturbance. They came downstairs after half past midnight, talking and laughing on the stairs. The house rules clearly state that noise is not allowed after 10 p.m., but it seems those rules only apply to the guests.
